About the Photographer

I have been passionate about photography since I was a buck-toothed little girl in rural Indiana. The beauty of God’s world has always inspired me, and it is my privilege to capture it in print. Though I hold a Master’s degree in counseling and specialize in therapy with children & families, photography is my calling. Behind the camera, my expertise in counseling seems to give me an edge in capturing fascinating details and relational dynamics. In my digital darkroom, I devote great time and attention to perfecting images and creating inspiring portraits. When I’m not working, I am committed to studying photography techniques and innovations to enhance my artistic style.

While my favorite subjects are children and families, I enjoy capturing God’s glory in everyday people, places and things. My photography illustrates contrast, intensity and true emotion. Through composition and framing, I strive to draw the eye to the interplay of light, color and shadow in each image.

In 2008, after many years on the Midwest, the Lord brought my growing family to the Pine Belt. I quickly embraced my inner Southern Belle and began capturing photographs of my love for the people, personalities and natural beauty in southern Mississippi.

A dedicated wife and homeschooling mama of four precious children, I continually strive to achieve the delicate balance between family life and artistic pursuits. I focus primarily on philanthropic endeavors, while accepting one or two family or corporate sessions per week. I have a fresh new studio in Hattiesburg to bring greater options and accessibility to my clients.

By the grace of God, my photographic work has been commissioned around the world. I have received the honor of Best Photographer of the Pine Belt in 2011, 2012 and 2013 from FestivalSouth and Signature Magazine. My fine art images are on display at the A Gallery in downtown Hattiesburg and are available for purchase on my website.
